Burnley Football Club were founded on 18 May 1882. It was one of the first footy teams to become professional, and subsequently put pressure on the Football Association to permit payments to players.
The club entered the FA Cup for the first time in 1885–86 and was one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in 1888–89.
From the 1950s until the 1970s, under chairman Bob Lord, the club became renowned for its youth policy and scouting system, and was one of the first to set up a purpose-built training ground. The team currently compete in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.
Last year we done the double over Burnley with a 1-0 win at home, and then a fantastic performance at Turf moor where we stuffed them 4-0 on their own dung heap

They played for both Leeds and Burnley
Bailey Peacock-Farrell
The goalkeeper established himself in the Leeds starting XI during the 2017/18 season. After making 40 appearances, he left for Burnley in 2019 and made his first Premier League start against Manchester City, last season.
Charlie Taylor
Like Peacock-Farrell, Taylor established himself in the first team at Elland Road before heading to Turf Moor. He made over 100 appearances for the Whites and has now also surpassed that figure for the Clarets.
Peter Swan
A defender who came through the academy at Elland Road, making over 50 appearances in the United first team. The centre-half - who could also play up top - had two spells in Lancashire with Burnley and made over 100 appearances.
Clarke Carlisle
A towering central defender who had one solitary season with Leeds, during 2004/05. His time at Burnley saw him play in the Premier League after winning the Championship Play-Offs the previous season.
Peter Haddock
Haddock had a brief loan spell at Burnley in 1986, making six appearances. He joined Leeds for a five-year period following that loan and was part of Howard Wilkinson’s Second Division winning side, operating at full-back.
John Oster
A well-travelled midfielder who played in the Premier League and made over 500 career league appearances. Oster had a short loan spell with Leeds before then immediately joining Burnley in another brief spell.
Robbie Blake
Part of the Premier League 100 appearances club, 31 of which were in the top-flight for Burnley. Blake is a forward who had a long career at the top level of English football, playing over 80 times for Leeds between 2005/07.
Andy Gray
Gray began his career with Leeds before then rejoining the club 15 years later. The striker had a long spell at the top level prior to coming back to Elland Road, including two year stay with Burnley between 2006/08.
Ian Thomas-Moore
Thomas-Moore has a strike rate of one in four during his 17-year career. Two of those years were at Elland Road playing over 50 times, and five of them at Turf Moor, where he made well over 200 appearances.
Sam Vokes
Still leading the line for Stoke in the Championship, Vokes has played a large amount of Premier League football in his career. An eight-game spell at Leeds in 2009 was followed by 250 appearances for Burnley between 2011-2019.
Chris Wood
A proven Premier League striker and a New Zealand international, Wood is a striker who has scored plenty of goals throughout his career. A one-in-two strike rate for Leeds is now a one-in-three rate for Burnley in the top division.
I kind of wish we still had Taylor and Wood but the greedy barstewards took the money and ran so fook them
So on to the game…………………
Team news
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is hopeful key pair Ashley Westwood and Matej Vydra will be fit for the Premier League clash with Leeds United this weekend after missing the EFL cup game midweek.
Former Leeds United winger in line to make second Burnley 'debut' against Whites. The Clarets have re-signed former Whites winger Aaron Lennon who left Burnley in June 2020 after his contract expired. He played for them on Wednesday against Newcastle in the EFL cup.
Lloriente and Forshaw got time midweek but unlikely either will start on Sunday
Raphina and Koch missed the squad outright midweek but looks like Rapha was just rested whilst Koch still has a Pubis problem (Don't bother with any stupid comments plz ). Rapha probably wouldn't be playing Sunday as he would have likely been called up for international duty, but the Premier league are not allowing travel to South America at the mo---Thank the fook for that
Predicted Line-up
Meslier, Ayling, Firpo, Coops, Struiyck, Phillips, Klich, Rodrigo, Rapha, Harrison, Paddy
I think we nick the game in a closely contested affair, and predict the score to be 3-1 to us with Paddy, Raph (If he plays) and Harrison with the goals
As they say in Russia--- Moscow
Agree Dan, we look better with a back 4 so I would go 4-1-4-1.
Rodrigo is not a No10, nor is Roberts. Ayling well off the pace this year and I would bet Shacks overtakes him for the RB spot by season end.
Best CB partnership is Llorente and Struijk so I would also bet Cooper will not be a No.1 pick by end of season.
IMO Costa has been usurped by Summerville. If he was really in MBs thoughts he would have come on V Burnley to change the game but he sat on the bench.
EFL Trophy and League cup may offer some players a chance to show MB they can step up but they have to take their chance!
