To me it just seems to be a lack of professionalism that runs through the club.
This from the board & management team down to the players.
Promotion has been there for the taking on several occasions and I still find it baffling that once again they gambled by sitting on their hands.
What did our rivals do?
Ah well, all water on the bridge now.
The 'good' news is that the play-offs are secured.
The other news is not that good, Rothwell slight tweak means he's out for the next 3 weeks. The way we underestimate injuries, his season is probably over.
Not sure about Pascal (looks a bad one).
Farke from being 100% sure of promotion, now says we still have a great chance.
He expected Luton to be difficult, certainly at their place and with them taking the lead.
Would have liked us to take the lead, is happy with the point but would have prefered the win! No shxt!!!
Would be very surprised if either Burnley or Sheffield slip-up.
So Playoffs it will be I'm afraid, would we finally break our rotten spell?
Should we fail again & looking at the financial state we're in, the championship will probably be our home for a long time.
Every team in the top six are jittery, I'll certainly give you that.
I would even argue that the ramifications for us in failing to get promotion would be far greater to LUFC than most others.
Facts are that from the last 6 games we picked up just 7 pts!
Burnley took 16 pts & the Blunts 13 pts. The second worst team in the top six, Bristol, won 11pts.
So clearly the jitters have, once again, struck hardest with us,
And it's not like that we've not seen this before.
To make it clear, I'm not blaming Farke or pointing the finger at him for claiming he's 100% sure of getting promotion. Even not when he says it's down to a very good chance of promotion, just a game later. But I would prefer it if he'd let results and perfomances do the talking.
The same goes for players talking about 8 (now 6) or whatever number of Cup-Finals to go.
And I do take some issue with him saying pointless/obvious things like, it's a good point (at Luton) but I would have prefered us to score first and win.
Oh and perhaps you've have noticed it, the jitters have firmly hit me too (it started a few weeks ago).
You're also spot on when you say that true love doesn't run smoothly, with Leeds United it never does. It's rather more often than not a case of "love hurts".😉
