Coops is critical at LCB. Organises the defense and is our leader. Koch at RCD
Once Cooper is fit again, it will all be about which CB gets to play alongside him. And the evidence to date is thats most likely to be Llorente. Cooper seems to bring out the best in his game, and he makes less mistakes. Koch & Llorente just together doesn’t gel.
So guy on tv asks FF so is it game management or time wasting
FF could hardly keep the smile of his face
Llorente continues to be a complete liability, we must go back to Strujik and Koch at the back and offload him to the subs bench. There was more than one occassion when Everton sliced through the midfield and defence and should have scored a couple.
Fat Frank, whatever you may think of him, got his tactics spot on. Double team Harrison and you eliminate the threat. They also have 2 good experienced central defenders who gave nothing away. FF was prepared to let us play around our own penalty area and in our own half, but once it came to their penalty area, a blue wall went up.
And don't get me on corners. Why the f*ck do we need 2 players around the corner flag? and then once they have decided to kick it into the area, make a complete balls of it!.
You can see that when Joffy comes on, he is like a wild stallion unleashed. He needs more control and to slow down a bit, but because he gets limited game time, he probably feels he hasn't got time to get into the game and must make an immediate impact. Not sure what the prognosis is with Rodney, but maybe this may give him a chance.
Having said all that, 8 points after 5 games is a step in the right direction. I'm sure JM and the team will be working on ways to break down teams who adopt the same stance as Everton.
Gelthardt needs a goal for his confidence.you could see it with his hesitation early on. Glad he had a couple of shots.
Adams today was like a little hound dog. Gets a sniff of the ball and just sticks with it until he gets it. Better today then weekend. His work rate will need us to have cover as it is impossible to maintain all season.
Roca was better with his passing today. Happy he stayed a little deeper. Still slow as hell on the turn but if he can stay deep and keep facing the on coming attackers then all the better for us.
Llorente, how can a player fizz a ball forward at such pace but then 30 seconds later under hit 3 metres side way to a open team mate. Got sucked into moving to high up to pitch couple of time and either losing his man or getting turn easy. Get Rugby styled takle for his yellow card.
Struijk, he has to be the fittest he has ever been. His work rate has been outstanding. Notice that when he is back passing he seems to where possible not pass to Llorente.
Kristensen, slowly improving each game. If i had to put in a percentage rate i would say he gets 1.5% better each game. He was free and open for the cross field switch today at least 10 times but the ball did not come.
Sinesterra, would others agree that he look 80% fit? He had at least 3 great through balls today and a few sneaky low crosses into dangerous areas. He now has scored twice from outside the box. 1 with right foot against Barnsley and today with his left foot. Can not wait to see him fully fit and his team mates understanding his movement. That Cruyff turn into a nutmeg was a thing of beauty.
Referee, Sir, if you are going to point to your watch indicatoring that you are adding time on then please do so. Rodrigo injury stoppage was for 4 minutes by it self and the 5 times (stop counting after that) you indicatored should have been another 1 minute.
One last point. We lucky with offside goal but Everton were lucky VAR did not pick up the Tarkoski pullback on Gelthardt in the 6 yard box which stopped getting a tap in.
Llorente was poor. He is not a LCB.
Fat Frank set up his team to defend and waste time from the first minute. I hate that. This is not football. The ref should have booked a few of their players for time wasting. It kills the spectacle for fans.
Jack needs to work on his corners!!! We had big guys in there but......WTF?
AR, AK, VO now know we need a CF
Rodrigo could be out until after the WC.
Pascal did OK but a proper LB would be better.
Happy for Sinister-Terror to bag a goal but he is clearly not fit yet.
Harrison had 3 inswinging corners in the 2nd half from the right wing in front of the Kop....
When you hit the first man who heads it away it's inexcusable as they've been preparing for this situation after training for 20mins.... not only did he hit the first man but these were fkn VOLLEYED away low down.
A 10yr old could have kicked it further and higher! Fkn embarrassing and I hope he's pulled up on this as we're bringing up our defence and you're letting the fkn team down with BASICS....!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
At least we got a point.
Could have gone either way.
Some good and less good performances.
Pascal again had a good game.
Impressed with Adams fitness & determination and mostly with Rocca's passing.
Sinesterra with a very nice goal, good and will no doubt get fitter & better.
A typical Llorente mistake led to their goal, but Kristensen lost his man far too easely and never even tried to follow him.
Again on several occasions noticed his standing off yards away, just waiting for his opponent's move. Did manage to get his head between a certain goal.
Meslier, very good save late on.
Apart from the mistake from Llorente, he and certainly Koch played well enough.
Impressed with Adams fitness & determination and most of the time with Rocca's passing.
Sinesterra scored a very nice goal, did well and will no doubt get fitter & better.
Not a lot went for Aaronson, trying a bit too much? Harrison was busy as per usual but a bit hot & cold.
Subs also a bit of mixed bag.
Gelhardt could (should) have scored a couple, decisions making not always the best and in general not at his sharpest.
Bamford did okish (a bit rusty), Klich did well and offered something different.
James, ah James... who? Jeeez that was P Poor.
Set pieces → corners → wtf.
There's a famous stat that's been doing the rounds since the start of the season on SKY:
Teams that get 8 points in their first 5 games are 96% to stay up. We have exactly that.
Good luck Mouseman and that’s an epic MDT for you m8!😁
We have to win tonight to drop fat Frank deeper in the sh1t!
2-1 to The Mighty Whites Sinisterra And Aaronson....🎵You’re getting sacked in the morning🎵..........
good luck mate 2-0 Leeds win
If we get at them early doors, pretty sure we can win by 2 or 3. If we don't, it could be a long evening. Rodney needs to remember that a striker needs to stay up and not mix it in the midfield area.
Will be interesting if James is in the team or among the subs. If he is not then we can probably assume that the move to Spuds is under way.
Would love to see Orta taking the pliss out of Lumpturd after the game
Good man mouseman, you must be exhausted after typing all that!!!!!!!!
Would love a win and if we do it might be a low scoring affair 1-0 us
would i take a point?
Yes i would
Full house as usual lets hope some of our fans bring
Lumpturd and Gerrard avoid winning the sack race.
Parker wins the honour this year.
No pressure on you Steve, just lead us into Europe...
I would be more than happy to pick up 3 pts against them, we haven't beaten them at ER since our return.
Make it 3 wins from 3 (actually 4 in 4) to make it a wonderfull start at ER.
I’m making no predictions after Saturday’s match but reckon the team will be:
Meslier
Kristensen Llorente Koch Struijk
Adams Roca
Harrison Aaronson Sinisterra
Rodrigo
Subs
Karlsson
Cooper
Hjelde
Forshaw
James
Bamford
Greenwood
Gelhardt
Quality MDT Mouseman and good luck for a prolonged run.... 👍👏⚽
Wouldn't it be great getting one over Lampard again and listening to his piiss poor excuses after the game....
I'm going for a positive 1-0 victory with Sinesterra starting instead of James and notching the winner.... gonna be very nervy and only 1 goal in it.
I suppose with you penning that long an opening post, we we won't be hearing from you again this year as you'll have used all your words up.... Happy Xmas and New Year Mouseman 😜🤣🎉
Imo it’s him or Gerard first to loose their job
Good Luck Steve!
Very long thread to get through!!!
