I think it will be good overall to stop the fkn time wasting but will change football a lot....
As soon as the keeper gets it, teams will sprint to play a high press and not let the keeps roll it to defenders as they will be closed down. He'll therefore just have to hoof it within the 8 seconds....
I may well be wrong and teams will find another way of getting out after a month of it....
I've said on here many times that keeps were holding the ball for 15-20 seconds when the SIX second rule hadn't actually been changed. That was down to the refs and the FA so at least something has been done....
At one stage towards the end of the game their keeper held the ball for 31 seconds!
This is without the catch and inevitable flop to the ground....
I just can't get my head around a ref not being able to see this....
New rules mean sweet f8ck all when referees can not even enforce current ones.

That should favour us as we play it out from the back and play to Meslier's strengths of distribution.
