Last night I watched Gelthardt play for Hull and was surprised to see that there was a little bit of confidence starting to show in his game. Playing out wide left in a kind of highbrid forward / Attacking midfielder he was active both in attack and defence. He looked more mobile and his touch looked closer to what it was when burst onto the seen 2 years ago. His corners had some wicked curl on them.
Charlie Crew looking extremely comfortable down in League 2 on his loan. Think that next season a League 1 loan or even a championship loan would suit.
The sooner we get him back and turn him into a LB, therefore saving millions to plough into other positions, the better....
Nobody will agree with me though and he'll probably go back to the MLS....
Harrison is taking a tsunami of abuse from Everton fans, particularly after last nights defeat by Liverpool. The brylcreamed boy wonder won't be plying his trade at the Waterfront next season.
Playing Harry Gray so young won't work and you only have to see what happened to Alan Smith with us and Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler in their first couple of seasons at Liverpool....
Hull played a 4-2-2-2 system with Joffy one of the second 2... he's always worked hard but never had a future in our 4-2-3-1 system, not with our quality of squad.
He'll carry on being a utility asset to mid-tier Champ sides and I wish him well for his future career. The same applies to Sam Greenwood BTW.
I hope Crew gets a loan to Champ level next season to develop him quickly, then we'll see what his level really is.
The one to watch now will be young Harry Gray - is he going to break into our first team if we go up or do we find a high end Champ side to loan him to?
