Surely we've come to the end of Radz tenure at ER.
Very surprised how quickly he has burned bridges with so many Leeds fans.
His decision to put ER down as security to complete the Sampdoria deal is one thing, to tell people he does what he wants with his assets is just staggering and disgraceful. ER is not just any asset.
Custodian of the club? My axx.
Praag Marathe gave a long interview on LUTV - worth a watch, good insight.
Sounds like we are restructuring how our recruitment works so we don't up with someone like VO having too much power again.good move.
https://www.leedsunited.news/news/phil-hay-says-leeds-could-make-second-appointment-after-arrival-of-41-year-old/ ..
All done and dusted them but not a word on bbc sport about it
About Farking time..
Michael Phelps,Olympic swimmer among the investors as well ..
Done
NBA superstar Russell Westbrook has bought in to the consortium now.
Westbrook is 14th highest paid athlete in the world (Forbes) and was the NBA player of the year in 2017....
Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas bought shares in Leeds.... Ricky Fowler pulled out after our relegation.
Good news with publicity from BIG golfers.... 👍👏⛳
Another week am hearing form a friend of a friend etc
Word on the street is that it's not the EFL that's to blame for the delay in the sale.
Maybe the 49ers are failing the fit and proper EFL test. If Scott Parker was seriously considered as a potential manager, they clearly lack ambition or cash.
The fit and proper EFL test only requires them to check any individual with more than 5% stake. We may have 60 people in the 49ers investement arm but most will not have anywhere near 5%. I would hazard a guess it would be no more than 10 to be checked.
I assume, the EFL will claim they had too many people on holiday to prioritise LUFC.
This 'delay' is par for the course in the Championship for LU. The EFL want to keep us with them for ever!
I'm sure theres a reason for the delay but...its 3 fookin weeks since! This is all too much of a deja vu situation and no doubt will end up in a last minute panic with underprepared team and unresolved transfers in/out. Unbelievable!
Only at Leeds is this kind of thing "normal".
MOT
They elect popes quicker than LUFC does managers FFS-👅
Still no news
Why does everything take an age to sort with LUFC?5 weeks til start of the season, most clubs back for preseason and we don't have an owner, manager or DOF. The hold up is obviously getting the FA to green light the take over but we will be playing catch up before the season even kicks off.the players should at least be back in training even if it's running laps or trained by u21 coach, our fitness was poor last season so taking an extra week or 10 days of time off will not help us in a season with more fixtures.
EFL apparently have given the green light for the takeover. If so expect a quick movement for a manager and DoF
Not Slippy G for me
Not proven he can sustain PL survival.
Villa 21/22 season just over 1 point per game, thats too close for comfort would need some dross teams in the PL to be below us.
Gers in a two horse race only manage just over 2 points per game, so that aint great either.
I'd be telling the lawyers to stop messing around and get the paperwork sorted!
Collin Meandor appointed to the board. Has been a director of 49er for nigh on 10 years.
Our OS says we've now been taken over by the 69ers and Ace Venturer....
Thanks Radz as you did do brilliantly up until last years near relegation but didn't learn the lesson from that.... you were far better than previous ownership for years though!
Onwards and upwards hopefully....
Cant see and issue as PL rules were more strict than EFL rules.
Tick tock leeds, get a shift on.
Hopefully all the good news will come in a flurry. New owners, new manager, players that want to go can FO and let's get cracked on.
Well supposed to be done by Friday all those itk people said on waccoe posters so ?
Taking a bit long now. Transer window opens on 14th. No manager, no DoF and our players agents speaking to other clubs!
All investors are looking for a return on their money.
If 49ers can take LUFC to £1billion turnover then this would be well deserved.
No money to be made in the Championship. The big bucks are in the Prem
This so called 49ers take over apparently composed of 60 individuals! I don’t like the sound of that as they will all look to turn their input to a shareholders bonus
Just read up on Peter Lowy who was appointed to our board of directors in 2021....his dad is the 9th richest Australian with 5.3 billion but don't know what their input is.
This is according to a LeedsNewsNow site which means he has probably paid off his repayments on an old yoot and cooks a mean bbq....
What many of us knew has indeed come to pass (official announcement still pending). I believe the total consideration was more like £150M but exchange rates could alter the number daily!
We are now in the hands of the 49ers. Like Smurf I don't automatically think "ace" - because Radz did a good job to wake the club up even if the end was sour - and we don't know what price the 49ers want for their investment either.
Owners are seldom charitable - they usually have to be fans of the club for that kind of behaviour (like Jack Walker). This lot ain't.
In the short term if their goals lead to us being a bigger club with a better stadium experience and a Premier League squad then all good - time will tell.
In the mean time as soon as the formal announcement comes, we can speculate on a DoF - then we need a manager - then we can have the squad discussions in earnest
happy days!!
He's only 30 and still playing pro basketball....
He's apparently a Chelscum fan though so it won't go down well if he doesn't know the history of the 2 clubs.
He did make a good start though by donating £2500 to The Square Ball magazine 👍👏
With this take over finally about to complete,we finally have owners who are cash rich and if we can make quick return to the premier league we will be in a far better position financially than we have ever been before.... Let that sink in for a moment....
Silver linings are great aren't they.. 😉😎
I am sure AR will negotiate on the basis that the club have over £200 million in assets (players) on top of its commercial value in the Championship of £150 million.
For the fans who want Radz out needs to think about this one line. We need 40000 fans donating 100 pounds every single week continuely just to keep the club running. Now if you get your head around that. Can you see the pressure our board are under financially and that is prior to the added pressure that fans give.
On the 49ers, are they actually part owners or is it just a senior member of their board who personally owns a stake and is using 49ers as public cover? I seem to remember that Aussie lowey is also a minor owner.
Who cares who owns us. I only care on who is our next manager and director of football.
I'm not going to overly criticise Radz, he rescued the club from an absolute lunatic and got us back on a firm footing, put his hand deeply in his pockets to fund the Bielsa project. Given that the project was to get us back into the Premiership within 5 years of his appointment, it's pretty clear that he wasn't planning on a long tenure.
The 49er's would not have the inside track on players to be purchased, but clearly they would influence the finances behind any deals. The investment by Radz in the club over the last 2 years has been minimal, but to be honest, if we were in the same position (taking away the emotional ties to the club) and viewed it as a business with an option to sell, we would be doing exactly the same, having said that, I believe that Radz took his eye off the ball which allowed VO to make some bizarre appointments, added to which sacking Marsch without a replacement in hand, was just plain stupidity.
As to the purchase of Sampdoria, I don't have any issues with that or indeed using his stake in LUFC as security for the deal, it's his money and he's entitled to do with it what he wishes.
I'm not sure what will be the point of protesting at ER on Saturday?, everyone at the moment knows that the Board have made a mess of where we are, so what's the point re-hashing an opinion that has already been said? Whatever is in the pipeline in respect of sale of club, appointment of new board etc, is already in motion and is very unlikely to be swayed by fans outside the stadium. Let's keep out powder dry and see what transpires over the coming weeks.
Facebook rumours that there will be a fan protest on Saturday outside ER.
I agree with Smurf,Radz did good with the club but we made some bizarre decisions since 49ers got more sway,I blame the 9ers more than Radz for our relegation, the yank influx of Marsch, BA & Fatboy was a failed experiment and very costly ..
Owners of all businesses, when they are looking to sell, make no real investments.
Last 2 seasons we have spent nothing really.
AR needs LUFC to be in the Prem to get top dollar. There are many players at the club who could yield £150-£200 million in sales. We wont use anywhere near this amount as we have to find £100million in revenue to compensate for the drop.
Leaves a decent pot to bring in new players to go with the really good kids at the club - and we have many that could thrive in the Championship. They just need some experienced heads around them.
AR really does need to sell now or risk losing his legacy. I know cash means more but if he gets a decent profit then he should go and concentrate on Italy.
It is an easy deal to agree to sell. £150million now, £100 million if we get promoted within 3 seasons + £20 million per year each year we stay in the prem for 5 seasons thereafter.
AR has invested about £150 million in LUFC - buying out MC, the ground + funding losses. He has got about £70million back from 49ers for their 44% share. 56% of £350million = £196 million. So a more than decent return of £116 million profit.
49ers not at risk as deal is loaded for us being in the Prem.
Being a salesman, I know I could negotiate this quickly. The 2 parties need to stop playing stupid games!
I have to say like Soops I'm somewhat more suspicious of the 49ers than of AR. All the bad decisions seem to have occurred since Marathe became vice chair, and most of the good decisions were prior to his arrival.
I have every reason to believe his tenure is coming to an end.
49ers will get the club and let's hope it's not out of the frying pan....
Radz did very well for us for the first 4 years after some really bad owners, let's not forget.
It's these last 2 years that have shown the joint ownership thing is pants and it's finally the time to sort it.
Truly shocking and irrational behaviour by any standards but then again after his absence in the last week or so they was always going to be a final twist to his LUFC story.
In all honesty at the start of his ownership I was less than impressed with his unscrupulous Mayanmar tour and so it comes to pass... The bottom line is he very definitely isn't Leeds!
Radz out!
