Right, Smurf's got the league sewn up, my job is to get the backup XI to Wembley.
A home tie against Champ opposition, I'm up for the challenge - maybe because I am looking forward to actually being at HQ for a change - only my second FA Cup game.
Anyway, on to Millwall. Millwall is a borough of London - a smaller than average parish that used to be called Marshwall and is situated in the fag end of the Isle of Dogs. I don't recommend a 2 week beach holiday there.
The team are allegedly known as the Lions because they play at the Den, but it's actually a modern change - the original club were founded in in 1885 as Millwall Rovers.
The first board of directors called the ground the Den because they were known locally as the "Beavers" - it was only more recently that all 14 members of the fans supporters club decided being called Beavers was a bit naff and invented the Lions thing - they are all thick because Lions don't have burrowing tools and don't live in Dens - they lounge about on open grassland in Africa, but hey-ho.....
Millwall got this far in the competition because they scraped past Dagenham in the third round (in front of 36 people and 2 dogs), thereby earning the right to come up to us and enjoy indoor toilets and other such modern luxuries. Expect a different Millwall to the ones who fluked a win against us earlier in the season - they haven't got Neil Harris any more.
I believe we'll see wholesale changes to the regular starters - my team will be:
Darlow
Byram Guilavogui Struijk Schmidt
Ampadu Rothwell
Gnonto Aaronson Ramazzani
Joseph
Expect Aaronson to get only a half, maybe Amps too.
Famous fans include:
Danny Baker
Err
That's it
Even Douglas Bader hasn't been there - he reckons he'd rather drop his unused bombs (and remaining testicle) on the Den than pay a visit.
Weather will be a challenge, with El Nino bringing red rain from the Sahara across in 70 mph winds. Best to put a jumper on under your T-shirts.
Leeds 2-0 Millwall
C'MON LEEEDS!
Appartently Gyabi played a blinder in Plymouth's win against Liverpool.
Well you put more effort into the MDT than the team did
When you CB is trying to play as a midfielder and holding the ball to long because the midfielder infront of him is trying to just get up to game speed ensures easy turn overs.
When your striker is goal rusty because he has been asked to run around all over the place to defend That he can not get to his actual position then he will never score.
When you manager has watched 45 minutes of something not working and the does nothing to change it then you will not change.
Today was like a example of not doing the right thing. The game would have change if we had taken Gilavogue off at half time and moved Ampadu forward to CM and brought on Debayo. Allowing a balance
Vile milscum cnuts singing the Turkish sh1te again! They really are horrible interbred turds!😡😡😡
I wish to apologise unreservedly for once again feckin' up the MDT.
I have served my punishment already - I just got back from having to watch that in the flesh - and pay for the privilege.
Smurf - you have the controls, I'm toast, take us to the promised land.
Exactly what I was thinking Steve.
FIrst the good news, we're out of the Cup.
Never thought I would actually say that.
As for the way we went about it? WTF
Our fans deserve a refund after this kind of non-performance.
Young Chambers did well, faded a bit in the second half.
Schmidt, Rothwell and maybe Byram were half decent, being kind here → most of the time.
The rest were a mix of poor & awful or simply not bothered !
Some seemed to play with a kind of arrogance that just doesn't fit us at all.
Our captain Ampadu certainly did not lead by example.
Guilavogui, great guy, but it's pretty obvious that he's well past it.
Joseph, oh dear, first touch has gone and he just looked completely lost/ out of sorts.
Must be a joke that we couldn't get anyone better to the club, at least and thankfully we've still got Bamford. Oh wait. Him or even Wöber could play up there, if they ever get fit again.
Anyway, none of those who started today did anything to claim a starting spot.
Pray we don't pick any serious injuries to key players, on today's performance at least we've got very little good enough spares.
Not worried to go out, but the way it happened?
I do worry, after this, how on earth Farke is going to get them back on track.
Well that was crap and to think the powers that be decided the squad didn’t need additional players
On this performance, we should have bitten Real Betis's hand off for Joesph!, he has been absolutely shocking, offered f*ck all up front and his passing nothing short of woeful.
Mind you, there are a few players who seem to be half asleep, our Captain being one of them!!
Good performances though by Chambers and Schmidt.
Sounds like Ampadu is having a bad game. Normally, we have strong bench, and two or three subs during a game doesn’t change our rythm. But this was too much. Fine with me, if just we win the league 😊🙏
A fairly lucky deflected goal down.
But they could have had second resulting from an Ampadu mistake.
Not the usual zip or fluency about our play, no surprise with all the changes.
Fairly laid back approach. Really hard to judge this performance (both as a team and as individuals) thus far.
One player has stood out, but not in a good way. Joseph has been shxte.
Chambers playing more on the right side of the attack, the lad has something about him and has played well.
Gnonto has forced a decent save and Chambers himself should have scored, but his powerful shot was straight at the keeper (still a good save).
Very happy with the much changed side and at least we'll know what they can do....
Can't get to stream the game so can someone please have some reports on Chambers who's playing in Aaronson role....be like a new signing if he shows potential with a good game
Even Douglas Bader hasn't been there - he reckons he'd rather drop his unused bombs (and remaining testicle) on the Den than pay a visit.
Would this be called tea bagging ? A Yorkshire speciality?
And this is my team
Mesllier
Byram Wober Struijk Schmidt
Ampadu Rothwell
Gnonto Gray Ramazzani
Douglas Bader
I'm sure Gray won't be getting in the squad.
Farke was only talking about Chambers coming back from injury last week so he'd be ahead of Gray....
It won't happen as he'll play 5/6 established players in the starting X1+ Gnonto, Ramazani etc....
I don't particularly want this line up as I don't want Meslier, Aaronson and Ampadu to play but I predict:
Meslier
Byram Guilavogui Struijk Wober
Ampadu Rothwell
Gnonto Aaronson Ramazani
Joseph
Quality Smurfesque MDT Soopa and good luck with your run to Wemberlee....
I'd change virtually the whole team and go with your team and know we'd have enough with our decent squad. I know we'll play Meslier for instance for some mad reason when Darlow is quality and needs some minutes just in case...
It's going to be tough and we know Millscum will put 10 behind the ball and rely on their giants from set pieces.
I'm going for a positive 2-0 victory with a Joseph brace ....
Will Harry Gray make the squad? There's no time like the present.
Love it, Leeds 3:0 Beavers and about dam time.
